Help fan test

I want to see if all the fans work in my rig can I plug the power to the mobo and attach the on button from the case to the mobo and press the power on button on my case ? oh the and the mobo isn't in the case

You can do the paperclip trick on the power supply. If you get the 20/24 pin connector and use a paperclip or staple to bridge the green wire with any of the black ones it will start the power supply. Then you can see if all the fans are working.

I heard about this but can I still do it through the mobo?

Easiest way to do it off the mobo would be to use a flathead screwdriver. Put it on the two pins for the power button rather than putting the wires from the case to the header.

Only hold the driver there for a sec it will start the system.
