Hi all.

PC is either crashing or restarting when unattended. Can anyone help me figure out why? Obviously the PC is unattended when it crashes, so I'm not here to observe what it is doing at the time. I leave it mining, but it will happily go for many hours without a crash so its random when it happens.

Thanks

The CPU is overclocked as per my sig. The GPU is undervolted. Ive tested it for hours and its stable, but when I go away and leave it, I come back to find it rebooted.

Can you tell me what to look for in event viewer? There is lots in there but not sure what it all means.

My problem seems to be linked to Firefox. I was mining just fine overnight, loaded firefox this morning and immediate blue screen 'system thread exception not handled'.

i have a tiny bit experience on random mysterious crashes so i'll chip in w/ what i did.
- as mentioned, check your event logs; when you fire it up, see if there's any Critical ones. there'll probably be some "restarted unexpectedly" type things, so events prior to that might give a clue. if it looks to be too full, save them, clear it and wait for it to happen again
- i ran sfc/scannow thing and that identified a number of issues that i corrected w/ an ops sys OTT/repair install thing; even if that didn't help re the power-offs, it's worth doing
- i've loaded a couple of monitors like HWMonitor to see if anyhting's getting out of safe parameters or fluctuating.

and after all that, i *think* my issue was simply a dodgy socket on my multiplug. i've got a 6-socket surge protected one and since i was getting no definitive events etc that pointed at a specific failure [the machine would just go off completely and reboot], i moved the plug to another socket, and 7 months later i 've not had another issue.
