Hi guys.

Looks like I'm in luck and should be able order my new PC today/tomorrow.

Just looking for some feedback on my build. I'm trying to build a gaming rig that will fit in my tv stand hence the Cosair 250D. I'm open to suggestions as long as the case stays the same and components fit. I'm trying to keep this build as cheap as possible. But i can stretch it a little if it's worth it. I haven't included windows 8.1 in the picture below as I'm considering just getting the 3month trial and then upgrading it.

I'll mainly be playing Archage, Wow etc on my Samsung 37" LED TV.

It's been a long time since I built my own rig so feel free to rip this build apart lol.

P.S modular PSU would be better with it being a small case to save on the clutter :-) also feel like I'm forgetting something from my build? Dunno if it'd just cause the Mobo and CPU are bundled together.

EDIT: Just thinking out loud, the reason for my MSI card is purely to match the Mobo, obviously if there's better. I was thinking how much of a bonus I'd get for upgrading to a 280x? Or even switching to a NVIDEA card. Would also like it to be sort of future proof. So just a gfx upgrade would allow me to play high end games etc.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Powercolor Radeon R9 280 TurboDUO 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £149.99
1 x TeamGroup Vulcan RED 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-17100C11 2133MHz Dual Channel Kit (TLD38G2133HC11ADC01) £65.99
1 x SuperFlower Golden Green HX 550W "80 Plus Gold" Power Supply - Black £49.99
Total : £265.97 (includes shipping : ).

Replace those parts and I think you are sorted.

Faster RAM, faster/cheaper GFX card and a better quality PSU.

The 3GB of the 280 is plenty and it has a wider memory bandwidth so doesn't choke as early as a 270X does as the resolution and details get higher.

Are you missing a HDD? as 128GB wont go far.

With the savings I have given you above you can even get a 256GB SSD for just £4 more than your total,

I have one in my current system although possibly on the ageing side being 5yr old. Definitely like the 240GB idea. Just sorting stuff with the misses as I may be allowed to squeeze in a midi tower :-P

Bump - anyone got anything to add?

I've noticed the Kingston HyperX beast 8GB 2400Mhz is on offer for £59.99 this week which is slightly cheaper. Would this be a better option? Also looks slightly bigger so not sure if it would fit under the fan etc?

Yeah it was the little lip of on top I was worried about. The ram you linked will match the colours too lol, awesome :-)

Also will 550w be enough to power the system? I was trying to find a online calculator to check but no luck finding a accurate one.
