This is my first build, although I've rebuilt plenty of computers in the past and I simply wanted to check that the components I've settled with will work well together and that I haven't created any bottlenecks. I would also like to know peoples opinions on the build and whether I could swap components for cheaper equivalents.

Below is a list of the components that I have chosen:

Motherboard, CPU, RAM, CPU Cooling

I would consider the i7 920 bundle, similar performance but runs cooler and is £80 cheaper. The 2 extra cores haven't shown any huge performance boost over 4 core processors

Also, the Corsair HX power supply line is modular which doesn't seem like a big benefit but in practice really is. Also, Antec Truepower line of PSU's are great

It would be much cheaper to buy the parts yourself and TBH I would get a better cooler such as the Titan Fenrir or Corsair H50. Both these coolers have been used in many builds done by OcUK forums members.

It seems that the Phenom II X6 1055T is a good overclocker and quite a few in this thread are hitting 4GHZ or around that clockspeed:

Like the previous poster said also consider the Core i7 920 too and also the Antec Truepower PSUs.

There is also this cheaper HD5970 card:

Hard drive choice seems a bit strange given the other components you have selected - £15.00 more gets you :

Western Digital Caviar Black 640GB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (WD6402AAEX)

140Gb more space, 4 x cache and SATA 3 which is supported by the mobo and then throw in 5 year warranty.
