Hi guys! My 24" samsung T240 literally JUST started doing the whole black screen after 2 seconds issue, and as I bought it back in April 2009 I don't think it's in warranty anymore so I'm in the market for a new monitor.

I've been looking around but it seems the only resolution monitors you can get now are 1920x1080 which is not ideal as love 16:10. I bought the Hanns G 27" from here a while back just to keep 16:10 but it seems ocuk don't sell that anymore either.

Does anyone know of any good alternatives, or even if you can ways to fix my Samsung if that's a better idea? I'll go with 1080 if it's generally a better price point but as I say my preference is 16:10 and 27" (or higher if that's better value) if possible.

Thank you!

The U2412M lacks the component and composite inputs, and it provides a lesser colour gamut than the U2410. If those features do not matter to you, then the U2412M is hard to beat in terms of value for money.

Hmm, I might go for that then, thanks.

Bear in mind this is for a secondary monitor, as I have a 27" monitor already so this is going to be primarily for movies and internet browsing. Would I be better off going with a cheaper alternative, even if it's 1920x1080? My reasoning being that I could probably get 2 24" monitors and run 3 concurrently for just a little more than I would be spending getting a good 1920x1200 monitor. Am I right in thinking this or am I better off with something along the lines of the U2412M?

What would one want with the "composite inputs" on a Monitor.
Dull thing to say "it lacks conponant & composite inputs" when you don't need them with DVI etc. Never seen a monitor with them on. EVER. TV's Yes.
The U2412M has an Excellent Black Point and is Very,Very Good once calibrated.

Does anyone know if the Achieva Shimian QH270 is worth the risk? I would be happy to run 16:9 if it was such a high res and it looks to be even better value than the Dell if you get a good one. I'm just wondering if the dead pixel rate is high or anything?
