Hi all,

I'm terrible when it comes the name of things, and I'm hoping you can help with finding a bracket/fitting.

I've got a 25mm square bar which I'm looking to hang a board off.
I want a bit of metal, that'll go over the bar and I'll screw the board too.

So it's a bit of metal, that's 3 sides of a square and one end has a hole to attach something.

Like a square hook.

I'm trying to find it on screwfix etc, but all I've found is 'angled bracket' and I'm all out of ideas

"U bracket"
Thank you, this seems to get me closest to what I want

How would you get the bar flush to the wall with something stuck behind it? I don't think it would be very strong either with the bracket screwed to the thinnest edge of the wood, with no support underneath.
The bar isn't flush with the wall.
I'm not sure what you mean by 'thinnest Edge', as the wood will be the same thickness all round.
The wood won't be greatly heavy anyway

It would be the same depth all around but you would be screwing it into the thinnest dimension, aka length, width, depth. Thus from my vague understanding anything that was put on the shelf would be applying great pressure to a very small section. Hence why most brackets for shelving go across the width, under the shelf to spread the load.
Even invisible floating shelves have a bar inside running the width of the shelf.

I see what you're saying, but it's not for a shelf.
The wood will be vertical, with the 'hooks' going over the bar

Like you might have a sign hanging outside a shop.
I just wanted the ability to lift it off when dis-assembling.

The other option would be to drill holes in the metal and bolt it on, which I could do, but again I'd like to be able to take it apart easily

Ahh I see.
Seems they are called U brackets, but they are pretty rare.
What I would maybe suggest is go to BNQ and get two L shaped brackets. Mess about with the small sizes and put one over the other, lining up the hole in the middle. One side would be lower obviously but it would still work.

possible, I've found some hooks for holding tools, 3 of them should hold it fine
If not, I'll drill and bolt it

I saw them, bit pricey for what I'd trying to do imo, thanks though
