Help - firewire question

I don't know if there is a special adapter cable available, but it should be possible to modify a standard firewire cable to do the job.

One end of the cable will plug into the firewire card's internal port, and the other end will need to be cut off. Strip back the outer insulation, and seperate the individual wires. Basically, each wire will need to be joined to the corresponding connection on your case's front panel connector, ie tpa+ to tpa+. Or in other words, pin 1 to pin 1 etc.

If you're not confident about what you are doing, it's probably best to leave it. If you get it wrong you may damage your motherboard, whatever firewire device you connect, or both.

This page has more information about the firewire specification.
