hi all new to the forum seeking advice.im in the middle of my new build and its came to a grinding halt with the water cooling system I brought. I got the raystorm 750 ex240 kit intending to water cool my cpu and vrm on my asus maximus v formula z77. im using the standard vrm cooler that comes on the board. now the problem is the tubing fits the barbs on the cooling kit but not the vrm the tubing fits over the barbs but just slips off. so this maybe a stupid question can I change the barbs on my water cooling kit to make them smaller to match the barbs on the vrm? I don't want to go and pay out for a water cooling block as I like the aggressive look of the standard one and don't want to leave the vrm out of the watercooling either. here are some details the barbs on the vrm outer diameter is 3/8 (10mm) recommended tubing id 3/8 and the water cooling kit has g1/4 fittings and tubing is 7/16 id 5/8 od is there anything I can do?

You could, but then it would mean purchasing new tube + fittings for pump/res etc.

You might be able to pick up some 3/8s ID tubing and stretch it over the 7/16ths stuff?

thanks for the reply my mate said to do that but I just don't like the sound of it. I happy to replace the fittings with a bit of research I think I need fittings with a g1/4 thread with 3/8 tube fittings. am I on the right track sorry if its a noob question.

cool I will look into getting some is it better to go with compression fittings or will barbs do? I quite look like the look of red compression fitting will go with my colour scheme.

this is what im looking at right now does this sound right xspc clear hose 3/8 id with 5/8 od and xspc barbs g1/4 thread 3/8 tubing if that's right I will order straight away.
