HELP FITTING A NEW COOLER

HELLO i am trying to fit my new cpu cooler and have undone the clip thing and can twist it round slightly but somethings still holding the heatsink down scared to pull it ? any ideas thanks chulainn

It could be the old thermal paste is holding the cooler on.

What is the cpu your using, sometimes running the machine for a little while to to warm the paste sometimes helps.
