I am at my dads house at the moment and the back yard has totally flooded. The neighbour as you can see in the photo is helping trying to put a plunger down.

The back yard is swimming. There is an extension to the house which is also flooded with 3 inches of water. I am worried the floor caves in as it is all tiled etc.

I have no idea about plumbing or drainage.

I have attached pics. Would be brilliant if anyone can offer tips. I have no idea what the drainage type is etc or any technical plumbing questions.

Unless you got some sandbags, I'd wait until the blockage is cleared and water stops coming in.

Then its a case of mopping, ventilation and then heaters to dry it out.

Call the council out.
Sweep all the water outside.
Blockade the doors with sandbags or whatever to stop it getting worse.
Dry it all out thoroughly - be proactive!

Theres no way the floor will collapse. Its got to be solid to hold a car.

Good point. Silly statement, just all in the heat of the moment. Head is all the over the place.

I have put a load of towels down at the patio. The water seems to have stopped, however it's definitely blocked and not going down the drain.

Your head is all over the place, lol, the heaters are for drying out the water damaged areas, not for melting ice/snow.

If its from a pipe your best bet is to get the mains in the road/outside path turned off. Can do it yourself if you have a long extention and the right socket. Else youll have to call a plumber asap.

So is the water coming from that drain? Deffo call the council. Oh and move that drill and unplug and move the fridge if you haven't already done so.

Out of interest why such a posh garage... tiled floor and patio doors??? Is it actually meant to be a garage and if not then can the floor support the car?

I would also back the car out from the house and part it in the street.

While we are at it rescue that poor smoke alarm, it is drowning. :( They aren't used to water.

Why is the top down on the car in the middle of winter? Hmmm.

Why are their curtains in the garage? Hmmm.

Oh and youre gonna need a bigger mop.

It's actually mine Wise Guy. I'm up visiting for a few days. Anyone actually got anything productive to say?
Worst I have a Porsche post ever?

In all seriousness - that is awful and I hope you get it sorted soon - but I don't know much about floods and can't help a lot - Sorry :( :p
