most of my system is watercooled or will be.
Using asus thermal radar when at load my vcore temp is 80+ as vcore don't have a temp I am sure its the VRM's any way it needs to be air cooled at the lowest temp i can get it at and i am not sure of the best way to do this or what good high speed/air flow fans to get.
I have a 120mm fan at the back
140mm blue led in the front have
140mm fan hole at the top its open but no fan
here are some pic so you can help me work out better air flow.

allso still need to add x2 gtx 680 watercooled in there as well

Rear fan as 140mm intake (with a detachable air filter).

One or two top 140mm exhaust fans (unless you have a radiator, which should also be setup as exhaust).

Fans : Corsair AF140, Gentle Typhoons 1850 rpm, Phantek 140mm. Or the 120mm versions. run them at 7 volts :)

Ive never heard of the rear fan being the intake, but it IS the closest to the cpu cooler. I might give this a try with my phantek since i noticed the fractal R4 front fans dont even closely line up with the cpu area; open up the two top holes as exhausts.

ok ty for your help not sure where you got two 140mm fan hole on the top form but theres only one there.

The big rad out is only 480 and i only gone for that one cuz its the only rad for the system to keep the cpu,ram and two gpus still a bit ott but there a lot of room out side you know :P

Can't recognise your case (although seen that window somewhere), but most cases use for WC have space for two top 140mm. Anyway it doesn't matter. The top fan(s) almost always as exhaust, and you can use the rear fan as intake if you can do that and you are lacking positive airflow. 140mm if you can for more air, 120mm fans will work the same anyway.

I would have use dual 240 / 360 thick rads for a SLI and CPU in say, an Arc Midi R2, but hey, what do I know.

The case is Lian Li PC-7FNWX Aluminium Mid Tower Case I did not get it for this build just the only one i had a t the time and i mayb getting a 900d case next yr
