I'm in touch with a guy over on a linux forum who is having problems with his hardware. More specifically with his ram. He reports that he can run memtest+ for over 24hours with no problem, but when running apps he gets memory errors.

He's looking for something that can test a system and identify if a system is prone to Ram related failures. He says:
I still lack a test that will automatically tell me whether the system is prone to RAM-related failures, whether they are due to Voltage, bad RAM, bad motherboard, bad CPU, etc.
Anyone got any suggestions for my friend?

I've also asked for some specifics so the actual hardware can be considered, but have yet to get a response.

Thanks in advance.

Apparently it is only one type of RAM with this particular motherboard. I've asked for some specifics.
