Good morning.
The microphone on our Sennheisser GSP350 has ceased to work. The boys (ages 13, 15 and 17) are looking for a replacement headset. I am not looking to break the bank and this is not my area of expertise. I have narrowed it down to a few under £70 unless there is a particularly valid reason to go any higher...lower is better if they are good enough. They are currently hoping to get the Sennheisser EPOS GSP 370 (£120 although EPOS are selling refurbished ones for £68).
List of requirements include:
good (enough!!!) noise cancelling (passive will suffice with active preferred);
Good quality 7.1 surround sound;
USB is probably a requirement. However, could someone explain what the differences/benefits are between 3.5mm and USB apart from plug.
The OCUK list is as follows:
Corsair HS50 Pro for £40 (I think only 3.5mm)
EPOS GSP 301 for £40 (I think also 3.5mm)
Razer Kraken X Lite for £40 (I think also 3.5mm)
Razer Blackshark V2 X USB £43 (The current favourite as has everything required with 50mm drivers ...only question is build quality RRP £70)
MSI Immerse GH50 7.1 USB £70 (The current runner up owing to specifically mentioning USB but 40mm drivers and no specific mention of noise cancellation)
Of course, any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Used for gaming and chatting on discord whilst doing so. I can always look on other platforms with a name and model to work with.
TIA
