Good afternoon guys,

I have recently upgraded some components in my PC and rebuild into a new case with better cooling (see sig for spec of PC).
After rebuilding I have decided I am going to try out some overclocking (first or second time of trying). I have read up on the internet and found out some of the basics required.
I started by getting the latest BIOS version.
Once I had the latest BIOS I started by locking my memory timings in at 5-5-5-15 and unlinking the speed from my FSB (so I could be sure overclocked memory wasn't causing instability), I locked this in at 1066MHz. I left the rated FSB at 1333MHz (I don't seem to have options to change actual bus speed), I did not alter any other settings as i thought i would test at stock speeds to start out. I then saved my changes and exited the BIOS, the comptuer tried to restart but failed to even get to the option to enter BIOS. I powered the system down and it booted all the way to windows with no problem. So I thought I would try another restart which again would not give me BIOS options. Once I powered down and booted to windows again I ran Prime95 for 1 hour and 30 minutes (Blend test) with no issues and with temps less than 35 degrees C.
Can anyone think of any reason why my PC fails to "restart" but is fine if I "turn it off and on".
If you require any more information please ask and I will do my best to provide it for you.

Hope you guys have time to help a total newb or I'm stuffed.

Thanks.

it doesnt like the ram settings, when yoiu reboot its reseting to default settingsa which is how the system can then reboot. It is a failsafe to make sure you can start the computer up when it goes wrong

Thanks for your responce, Any ideas what i could do to get my RAM to run at the speed advertised when i purchased it? It is 1066MHz RAM but it seems to only be detected as 800MHz, gerrrrr i hate pcs :D
