Well I'm almost finished formatting (system recovery) the PC and its asking me to click cancel so I can continue but my problem is that my mouse and keyboard have been taken out during the recovery so i could use it on the other computer while i wait for this to do is thing, now i plug it bk in and it wont let me click cancel, usb mouse/keyboard doesnt work either.
CD drive with the recovery disk wont pop out either.
What can I do? I dont have to start all again do i?

XP OS BTW people

Anyway, i turned it off and booted it up, it started installing keyboard and mouse settings, everytthings going well but in future will something not work properly due to me not finishing the recovery....

Generally speaking it's not advisable to disconnect PS/2 devices during operation, not only are they often not 'hot-pluggable' like USB, I believe it can even cause hardware damage on occasion.

The PS/2 gear need to be plugged in at power-on and not removed - won't work otherwise.

For the USB gear you need to enable USB keyboard/mouse support in the BIOS.
