Help frozen netbook

Dunno if anyone can help I can't think of anything.

Put a fresh copy of window on, all working, used hp windows utility to update bios and it froze, black screen, white LED power light next to power sockets and power LED on solid and power button. No response at all.

Battery is not removable, so all I can do is run it flat and see? Holding power button for 15 seconds does nothing.

I think it may have bricked due to a bad flash? Searching online reveals nothing really.

Ok its working now, not sure what happened but hey.

Problem now is getting the touchpad working. It recognises a standard mouse, which shows up in device manager, but there's a bunch of unknown devices in device manager.

I've downloaded the synaptics touch pad driver from hp, installed it but nothing... Any ideas?
I've tried fn and function keys but I think it's just not recognising the hardware..
