help - XFX GeForce 7900gs

Hi
I have just purchased a new XFX GeForce 7900GS XXX Edition graphics card. I have installed it in the computer fine, plugged in pci-e 6 pin power fine. The monitor connected is a CRT monitor so i am using the supplied DVI-VGA adaptor. I reset the Motherboard cmos before installation and did everything else i could think of. When i turn on the power, the graphics card fan whizzes up and everything seems to work except for one problem -- there's no picture! If any of you have had similar problems or have any ideas for a solution, help would be greatly appreciated. :)
Thanks

Does the PC boot (i.e. hard disk activity lights, perhaps Windows Start sound). Do you have another monitor to test? Do you get any beeps from the motherboard? What PSU do you have?

Phew...

Sounds like there is not enough juice in the PSU, failing to initialize video in POST, it is probably hanging there! Try another PSU. Or see if the Mobo came supplied with diagnostic LED's (on a USB PCI type adaptor card) It hooks into the JTAG pinheader of the Mobo. That will help you decipher where in POST its failing, I'm though, 95% certain its your PSU modern video cards require a fair bit if juice on the Voltage rails!
Hope this helps!
Jonnygrunge.

PS: connect a system speaker to enable beep error codes 1-3-1 I think for a VGA fault!

Had a problem with my XFX 7900GS not working correct on my TFT screen, but this was only for the booting up of the computer, when it gets to windows its fine. Also the graphics worked fine with my CRT, so we think it must have been the TFT at fault.
