Help: Girlfriends Build Messed Up

Hi guys

I got my girlfriend the following items for her build :

CPU - i5 2500K running at 4.4
Motherboard - Asus P8P67 Pro
Graphics - MSI ATI Radeon HD 5850 Twin FrozR II
HDD - Samsung F3 7200RPM 1TB
PSU - OCZ ModXStream Pro 600w
Case - Coolermaster Elite 430 Windowed Case

The problem that she is having is that when she is rebooting from say a windows restart when it did not shut down properly and it goes to the selection menu to choose safe mode etc, the keyboard stops working. Ive tried the different USB ports on the front and back and its not helping.

Also when the computer is in sleep mode it will not wake on keyboard or mouse movement.

Any ideas ?

My PC does the same, with the keyboard issue.
It works fine going in to bios and everything but it's just an issue when it didn't shut down properly and you ask if you want to put it in safe mode. Have you tried a different keyboard? Because it works fine if I use my Logitech keyboard, but if I use my Razer it doesn't work at all.

The one running at 4.4 is stable at 12 + Hours Prime95 so i hope so. I thought all the 2500ks can go to at least 4.4 or 4.5 ?
