Hi guys,

Been using my PC regularly for a few years everything worked fine. Went out today, came back booted up the PC no issues. Started up WoW and 2 mins later the monitor goes blank.

Tried changing the cables with no luck, and it worked when I tried the monitor with my Xbox 360 - in fact it even came on a few more times with my PC but just went blank again after a few minutes! Oh I also tried with another monitor with the same result - it was receiving a signal but the screen was just blank.

I'm no expert but I'm guessing it's my graphics card that's gone, maybe overheated? Can anyone confirm or maybe even disagree with a possible fix? The fan is still spinning on the card and it's a BFG nVidia 7800GTX.

Gonna just buy a new graphics card tomorrow I guess, but would rather be certain before wasting any pennies!

Cheers guys.

I think I bought it just over 3 years ago - just my luck ha! I'm not too fussed about buying a new one... just need to ensure that this is where the problem is.

Did it work with your xbox? If it did, it could be because your pc was overclocked too much, reset the bios/clear cmos, if that is the case.

Hmm i would remove graphics card, reset BIOS and use onboard integrated graphics and see if that is the case.

If, the integrated graphics works then you've got a faulty gfx card if it doesn't work then its most likely your motherboard is dead.
