help GTA V key invalid

Hello

Purchased a GTA key, it came with a graphics card from a legit place.

Anyway I enter the key and steam says invalid key.

I have raised a steam support ticket and contacted the vendors.

I just wondered if anyone has any ideas.

I didn't post in the GTA thread as I thought it might get lost in there amongst the happy people preloading .

It's probably a rockstar social club key rather than steam.

Yeah. I bought Dragon Age Inquisition off G2A and raised a case against the seller when it didn't validate in Steam.

Of course, it was an Origin code. Case closed - my bad!

Are you sure it's legit? Post a picture of the card or something (obviously with the code covered)?

Because all retail copies use Rockstar Social Club, as been said... you can only get the Steam version from Steam.

thats not strictly true, Kinguin sold Steam codes for the original early pre-order deal (before the first of february i believe) someone posted a SS about it in the main GTA V thread a few days ago

maybe they just scanned and sold the codes on route to the purple shirt place

You sure that you're not reading O as zero and vice versa (if any are in the code)

OP states it said invalid key, not key already used or words to that effect, so no one has used the code

Some codes on the leaflets are "dots" to form a character rather than typed and seen as on here.

Make sure not to be confused by: 1 and L, 8 and B and o and 0

I have made that mistake a lot.

Its 15 characters with no hyphens, is that how it should be entered?

2 Questions

Was the GTA5 card delivered to you or did you purchase it from a store?

Does the GTA5 card have a magnetic strip on it?

If it has a magnetic strip, it could be that someone forgot to swipe it to activate it.
