Hi All,

A coupleof weeks I decided to install Ubuntu along side my WIndows 7 OS as a dual boot so that I could see what I thought o Linux. I found that Ubuntu was very sluggish compared to Windows 7 so decided to remove it.

Within Windows I ran the disk manager and deleted the Ubuntu partition and then expanded my Windows partition to use all the free space.

Now when I boot I get a message along the lines of "GRUB boot loader can not be found" and can no longer boot Windows.

How can I get back into my Windows 7 partition? Please tell me this is possible as I can't afford to lose all my data...

Thannks for any responses.

The GRUB bootloader is related to Linux so you need to remove it and then restore the Windows bootloader. If you boot from your Windows 7 disk and enter the repair console you should be able to open a command prompt. Then type this in without the quotes (") :)

"bootrec /fixmbr"
Press enter.
"bootrec /FixBoot"
Press enter.
Restart.

Thanks for the response.

To confirm how do I enter the Windows 7 repair console? I booted with the CD yesterday and it just seemed to go straight to the installation screen...

There should be an option when you boot to Repair a Windows installation. It should then give you various options.
