I had a partial disk failure and had to reinstall Windows on a replacement hard drive.

HOWEVER when I run Picasa (from the old drive) my picture library is no longer visible. The photos are intact and still in their old folder structure - and now backed up. I understand that Picasa stores information on changes (ie fixes etc) locally in the folder that the photos are stored in.

How can I trick Picasa into seeing these again?

I have over 80GBs of photos organised into many dozens of albums and desperately need to recover them, changes/fixes intact.

Any help much appreciated!

It's a hidden folder in your 'my pictures' directory iirc. It should show up if you go into folder options and 'show hidden folders'. I think it's called 'picasa originals' or similar.

Not sure on the database though, sorry. :(

After some searching

This folder weighs in it 130mb, there is also a folder called Picasa2Albums one step up.
