Hi guys - this is really driving me crazy.

My setup is as follows:

2 x HP MicroServer (8gb + 16gb ram)
2 x New WD Black 1tb drives (One for each host)
ESXI 5.1 (On both hosts)
HP VSA ESXi (One on each host)

The sans are installed with pretty much everything default, then volumes are presented to my esxi hosts.

The iscsi volumes are then created into datastores on the esxi host.

This all works fine.

I then install 08R2 on a newly created datastore (a volume for a VSA). Once 08r2 is installed if i then try to copy a file or any disc I/O the VM will just die.

If i look in the event viewer for the ESXi host - i see the iscsi connections dropping out and trying to reconnect (also failing etc). All the targets do this and you cant do anything.

I originally had 2tb WD green drives - so i thought the discs were too slow - so got some 1tb WD black drives. I STILL have the same issue - and i have no clue.

This issue didnt happen with the standard seagate drives that come with the Microserver - but i ran out of space on my SANS.

Is it that the microserver/HP VSA doesnt like sata 6gs or 4k sectors or something? (thats if the hdds i have has 4k).

ANY help atall will be greatly appreciated.
