I am purchasing a (Gigabyte GA-MA790XT-UD4P (Socket AM3) motherboard) but I am very confused as to which graphics card to go for. I want to be able to run the following software as smoothly as possible.
Adobe Illustrator cs4
Adobe Photoshop CS4
Some people tell me to get the best I can afford and others tell me It is not that important.
Please advise me.

Thanks that will save me a lot of cash. i was trying to put it all together for around 500 pounds pos £600 with out a monitor but the cheaper the better.

Photoshop CS4 can use the graphics card to accelerate certain functions but it's still not that important.
I might perhaps go a little higher, something like this (£48) ?

Higher? Im sry, whilst it may have 1 gig vs 1/2, the 4730 blows the 4650 out the water in every other respect, its clocked higher at 700/900 vs 600/800, uses DDR5 vs DDR2 (massive difference), 640 stream processors vs 320 and has massive potential for OCing

My bad, I read that as a 43XX series.
The 4730 would be a better choice than the 4650.

4730 is a dog when it comes to efficiency though 'if' you need a card that powerful (I know the availability isn't that good, but) a 4770 at full load = 4730 idle
