Help i can't play MW2

I've been playing MW2 since its release on my PS3 without any issues at all.

Yesterday i was playing and then got the delivery of dirt 3 so took out my mw2 disc and played dirt 3 for an hour.

i then got bored & put back in mw2 and it got stuck on the online status screen. it just sits there trying to fetch playlists and update rank & unlocks but the matchmaking server is complete.

it will not go off of this screen.

i have:
Rest router twice by using the button on the back (its a D-Link that i have never had issues with

formatted my ps3 and reset to factory defaults

tried different wireless channels

PS3 has always been in the DMZ so thats not changed

to further investigate i tried to play COD4 & got stuck at downloading game settings as well! for the first time ever!

every other online game runs perfect including BFBC2, dirt3, black ops and borderlands online.

i'm really stuck on what to do. because both infinity ward titles wont work could my ISP have blocked or corrupted something to do with a connection to the IW servers?

i can't see it being an issue on my end because i've reset and formatted everything that it could possibly be.

any help would be appreciated.

Thats very strange for both MW and MW2 not too be working, dunno if it'll work, but on MW2 when your at the main menu, click multiplayer, and then let it sit on the next screen for a minute before clicking online, sometimes helped me when MW2 froze on me

Edit: Just noticed theres a thread on the rainforest about the same issues, must be affecting a few people..
