the dirty souf
Hey guys. I've just upgraded my main setup to a Asus P5B with a Q6600 and Kingston Hyperx 1066MHz RAM. I've also added a fourth monitor. Now I have three 19" LCDs in a row with a 27" LCD-TV on top.
The problem is I can't seem to be able to drive all four monitors. I've been using a Matrox Parhelia APVe in independent mode, which gives me three outputs, but there's a few problems with it. Firstly I can't get the main monitor to run at 1366x768 and it doesn't look like I'll be able to get the third display to run at 2560x1024 to work with my Matrox DualHead2Go when it arrives. That was the original plan in getting four displays to work.
So as I'm getting to the end of my tether with the POS Matrox, I'm now thinking of a new solution. I could fork out loads of cash and get a Nvidia Quadro NVS 440 or a Matrox QID card, which would drive four displays independently and just work out of the box, but I'd rather save some money and get two dual head cards instead. I've got a PCIe 8500GT that I'd like to use and the motherboard has spare PCI and PCIex1 slots so I'm guessing that it may be possible to use something like a PCI 5200 alongside, but I'm not sure.
Please can somebody suggest a combination of cards that would work in the P5B to provide 4 independent displays (1 x 1366x768 + 3 x 1280x1024).
Thanks.

Yeah, I've seen those cards. Does it support independent mode or just stretched? Are you running it alongside a PCIe card?
