I have the 4th and some what like it. Ive just ntoiced on steam they have Civilization IV: Colonization on sale. Looks better graphics but what is the actual diffrence? Any one know? is it just the graphic and addition of missions?

no it's a different game - colonisation of the new world. it was based on an old version some years ago, a classic imho, sailing to the new world (americas) to colonise in whatever way you wanted, by trade, conquest etc, then you had to declare independence and fight the war.

the remake is on the civ4 engine and is very different from civ. i'm not sure if there is a demo anywhere but try it before you buy it. i loved the original colonization, but didn't like the remake

edit: should probably clarify a bit. it's like a mod (i think) based on civ4 - so you know how there is the rise and fall extra map and stuff like that? well i think it works along similar lines. you will need a certain version of civ to run it. let me find some links

Totally different games as others have said. Personally think the original, if you can stand the old skool gfx, was a much better game. The remake is fairly seriously bugged (they might have fixed it now) but not really worth it unless you can pick it up for a serious bargain price.

£6.25 including Civ4 and expansions atm on Steam.

I haven't played the remake but the original was decent. Different thing from Civ, possibly easier to get in to.
