Help I think I've blown summmin, please asap i need to fix

Hi my pc has stopped working help me work out which bit

I ha badly fitted NB cooler other day, upon refitting MB I lost my IDE ports, so today a sata dvdr arrived pluged in all ok.

A few hours later I reboot and it wont start, I get to bios then it becomes unresponsive in bios, and finally wont start my x1800xt fans spins up at max rpm i can hear the HD's spin up i have power to dvdr

where my lan cable goes in I no longer have a light

IS IT MY motherboard , I what to order asap as the pc I'm typing on is PII 233 and is dead slow and no optical media !
 
yer but do u reckon it mb

I have tried booting to bios with all drives unplugged and 1 stick of ram thats about as stipped down as I can go.

the light used to flash notifying network activity at the lan port on back .


only wanna but MB if I have too, recently bought opty 165 !
 
yer no ram = nothing no beeps, have sourced a replacment mb sam model off an auction site at least that way I wont need to reinstall will I
 
ok , i removed mb and laid it on top of cardboard box, I can tell it booted a little further as my x1800 normal spins 100% then drops back as it boots up !

Oh yes I cry and begin to put back into case

once back in case it wont boot!

so i will have to wai tuntill replacment
