HI All, in despair and in need of advice please.

Back in november i purchased the i7/gig ex58-ud5/corsair 6gb ddr3 bundle, overclocked at 4ghz by overclockers (with the aim of avoiding problems).

My new system ran sweet without any issues until 2 weeks ago when one morning it just showed no life at all, no post, nothing, just a split second of fan action with the on button then dead.

Trying my best to remain calm and think methodically, i carried out the standard fault finding. tried to clear cmos with the button at the back of board, nothing.
Tried with bare minimal of components, removed from case, nothing. At overclockers staff advice, tried 1 stick of mem at a time and removed the battery.... nothing.

The next step was obviously the psu (also brand new from overclockers) had it tested at a local pc shop and it was perfect. no issues.

SOOOO foned staff for RMA, sent back at the start of the week and got a prompt return for friday with an email from staff reading that teck report "no post, incorrect configuration- OCUK, resolved, ran for 5 hours"

Was a bit myft as to what incorrect config meant as it was ocuk settings and had run perfect for 3 months !!! but still ,great i thought,as long as its working and proceded to try out the board again. ITS OBVIOUS what comes next isnt it, yup, exactly the same issue as before, split second of fan then nothing.

i just dont get it, iv covered all bases at my end ( i think) and dont know what to do. im wary of RMA again just for staff to send back the bundle and tell me its fine and charge me for the privilege.

iv had a similar nightmare experience with a retail chain before which took 2m of draining toil to sort out. im getting da ja vu and the fear of 1 of those getting nowhere scenarios

i spent allot of money with overclockers and went to them based on reputation. i need my system for work and cannot afford to go weeks without it, its already been 2.

Sori if this is long winded but i thought i should cover all relevant info.
Can any1 please offer advice if theyv been in a similar situation or anything i havnt thought of or ???????

Hi people, cheers for the responses, yup, iv bench tested to rule out short circuits with the case and im not getting anything on the diagnostics display, its not lighting up!! just a split second of fan action when pressing on then nothing. any-more thoughts guys??????

Banzai joe, yeah tried various sockets, what do you mean by power cycling mate??

Hazard0, its a corsair tx 950w, just spoke to ocuk again and the suggestion was its defo a psu issue. staff said even though psu looks fine on a tester it may not be outing enough power., testers can be unreliable ????? his suggestion was to get hold of a different psu to try in my system and to try mine on a different rig.... otha than that the guy was stumped ....anymore thoughts guys.. keep the feedback coming please

me again , just thought i should update, turns out its a dodgy 8 pin connection on the psu, dont get it myself, it reads fine on a tester, anywho cheers people
