Help in explaining one cpu from another.

Hi, I work in the IT Insurance industry, Repairing and replacing laptops and system units, Now it is easy enough to explain replacing a p3 with the new p4's but when it comes to mobile p4 processors running at say 3ghz with a centrino duo running at 1.66ghz, The customer obviously only looks at the speed and realises it is way below what they originally had, Now i know the centrino duo is better but cannot explain it to the customer.

Anyone got any idea's on what points i can use to explain?
