Hi guys,

I was just upgrading my pc to quad core from an E6300.

I installed it all, put everything back together, loaded the bios and it had set itself at what I think, is stock 7x multi, whats the stock voltage?

My motherboard is a Gigabyte P965 DS3 rev 2 with latest bios.

Is there anything else I need to change in the bios for the quad?

I get the bsod just before it boots into windows (vista)

Any help please people

Thanks

Nick

Oh no, thought that was only with mobo change?

Just did a cmos reset.

If I put the E6300 back in will it work as before?

Hi, I tried the above, boots into safe mode fine, removed everything under CPU, rescanned and I get 4 saying Q6600, don't have speedfan, only everest.

Hit restart and same bsod, says Royal.sys at the top

Am i looking at a re-install then? :(

Thanks

So, if I re-install my E6300 should it work ok again?

I have a P35 mobo coming within the next few so dont really want to re-install until I have new mobo.

Ok im back on mt E6300, reset the cmos and it fired right up.

So is my quad faulty?

I will try again when new mobo arrives with a fresh install on a spare drive.

I did to start with lol, wasnt thinking right.

At 3.15 Ghz now, only volts I have increased is vcore to 1.35, looking good so far.
