Help installing q6600 retail heatsink please

I have just started my build, i have my arctic silver 5 at the ready and i am about to put the heatsink on but it already has some sort of thermal compound on it, 3 strips on the heatsink contact.
So do i just install it as it is until i get a replacement heatsink where i will put the AS5 on or what?

just fit it on, dont waste your AS5 unless you are planning on overclocking with the stock cooler (not really recommended) or keeping it on for a long time

ok thanks, i am planning on OCing in the future but only when i have a new heatsink.

Yep. There's no point cleaning it off and putting the AS5 on it as it wont make any kind of noticable difference on the stock cooler. Save it for if you need to re-seat the stock cooler or when you buy another cpu cooler.
