Help! - Internet speed issue - TalkTalk

I'll chime in with getting god awful speeds with Talk Talk. Before today it was average >1Mb/s download and <1Mb/s upload. Youtube videos unplayable etc. I've been pushing my mum to change (want to go with Be) - she took out a contract with Talk Talk while I was at uni, and upgraded to their Pro package.
Then the weird thing; some really long downtime last night, and right now I'm getting ~9Mb/s down and ~1Mb/s up.
Still think I'll switch though, but this is a nice surprise.

Make sure your getting Virgin's cable (10Mbit/20Mbit/50Mbit) package rather than VM ADSL as you will have even more problems with this than you do currently with TalkTalk

Have you tried posting on the talktalkmembers forums about your problems? I see a lot of TalkTalk bashing around here and some of it is justified, especially towards their non-LLU product but if your connected to a TalkTalk LLU exchange then there is a lot they OCE's on the members forum can do to help - I had quite a few problems when I first went with TalkTalk and they sorted it all out fairly quickly, now running a smooth 2.9Mbps down & 0.85Mbps up which is great considering my line length and condition!
