Hi guys,

Having a bit of an issue; I've got a new iPhone 7 and I want to backup/restore all my stuff from my iPhone 6 onto there.

However, my PC won't recognise it but it still charges? I have tried:

- Resetting my PC and iPhone
- Using different USB ports plus the one on the back
- Using multiple wires (all of which are official Apple ones)
- Updating iTunes and my iPhone software is up-to date (I'm on Windows 10)
- When I go and check hardware/devices the iPhone is not there, if I search for a device my iPhone does not come up
- Cleaning out the port on my iPhone (although I'm going to try this again)

Really not sure what else to do; what could it be? My phone has had some trouble charging (the port is being weird) - do I just need to clear it out further? I was just confused as when I plugged it into the computer it charged with no problem.

Thanks

As ChrisD says. You have to plug the 6 into power for it to backup.
