This is my motherboard: http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=Z68 Extreme3 Gen3
So I've had these issues for such a long time; I've had my screen randomly go power-saving mode (completely randomly, during games, during normal use, during no use at all), but I can see the PC is running as usual. When I reset the system, sometimes I can see everything as normal again, othertimes I just hear the Windows login sound on a still black screen and I'm forced to restart AGAIN. Sometimes, not often, my GPU fans start rapidly spinning all of sudden. It can't be the GPU because I've got 2 7970's and both of them give the same issue.
Reasons I think it's the motherboard that's broken:
-After returning CPU to baseclocks (used to have it overclocked), I no longer get BSOD's, but just screen going power-saving mode. So the problem has persisted but in a different way.
-I had my screen replaced a few months back but the same issues still occur with this screen too (This is a Dell Ultrasharp 2560x1440).
-Sound is acting really weird. As of right now my speakers are mute for no reason
-Had my Power-supply replaced too recently, can't be that one.
-Only things I haven't replaced since the problems started is CPU, RAM and Motherboard. Surely one of these? But I'm leaning towards motherboard.
-My PC can run fine for long periods of time, then all of sudden the issue pops up again. Yesterday I couldn't use my PC at all but today it seems I'm able to do so as I'm writing this right now
-Final point which should make anything a bit more clear: GPU, Display, AND CPU are all connected to this issue somehow as I explained above. Well what's common with all of these? They are connected to the motherboard of course. That's why I think it's the motherboard's fault. It can't be GPU or Display because I recently replaced them. Do you think it could be the CPU? I haven't removed my liquid cooler from on top of my CPU to brush the dust off since I installed it around 6 months ago, I'll concede that.
Any help is appreciated. Thank you all!
