Can someone please help have recently carried out my first CPU upgrade I'm worried about the temp the CPU is reporting, have installed AMD overdrive and a few other bits of software HWinfo, core temp etc to get these figures.

these are screen shots I've just taken on AMD overdrive are these figures ok I.E CPU VID, NB VID etc.... it's reporting the Thermal margin on one page is this the Core temp?

couple of questions why is the multiplier reading 17X on the cpu page and 37X on the clock/voltage page? is the CPU vid set to high at 1.4062V ?

Ermm

What is your CPU? is it at stock or oced?

Overdrive is an overclcoking utility. What temps does HWmonitor give you for idle and for load?

The two different speeds are for idle/load settings. You can see them under "Target Speed" and "Current Speed" on the Clock/Voltage page.

It will only speed up to the target speed if the CPU is under load.

Hi MrMD,

sorry should have posted spec here it is,

MOBO ASrock fm2 a88m extreme4+
CPU AMD A10 7850 stock not OC
ram 8gb team Vulcan 2400mhz
Raijintek Aidos Direct Contact CPU Cooler

That's one of my concerns HW info, HWmonitor, and the UEFI are all reporting idle temps of around 45c-50c, on load they have been as high as 90c on HWinfo, that's the CPU package temp from the info I've been able to find so far think that's the correct temp sensor for the core temp.
One thing I did manage to figure out last night using AMD overdrive is the thermal margin readings, they decrease as the CPU load increases, on a prime95 run the thermal margin settled at 26c, am I correct in assuming that is the margin left before the CPU reaches it's thermal cut out load/temp and that this is ok? can I disregard the temp readings being given by the other software I.E HWinfo etc.
one problem that I have created and I hope it's not terminal is that I used the UEFI to lower the coreV at one point, rebooted the system froze on the initial windows screen, reset it and everything booted fine. Only problem when I ran AMD overdrive the NB Vid had changed to 1.345v and was highlighted in red I reset it to 1.1375 and it seemed to be fine but every time I reboot the system it resets itself to 1.345 is there a way to rectify this?
