Specs: -
4770k @ 4.4GHz
2x evga gtx 780 ti superclocked (ref cooler version)
16GB RAM
1TB SSD Evo 840
2 TB 7200rpm drive
850W PSU

I am seeing massive fps dips in games for no apparent reason. There is no saving and/or loading going on, it just happens. Lords of the Fallen and to a lesser extent Crysis 3 have this happen even at 1080p. I had an issue where this was happening on CoD:AW too but it somewhat went away with a complete Steam reinstall and driver update. However when I realised that I hadn't checked Maximum 3D performance on I selected it and the fps dips are back. I have tried everything. I created a topic here a week or so again thinking it had worked which you can find here which I thought worked, but it was just that I had SLI off.

I am at my wits end. The system was bought from OCuK but I don't want to send it back unless I absolutely have to. Can someone please help??!!

First use CCleaner to delete random registry entries, uninstall drivers and then run DDU to clean all drivers left on your system (in safe mode)

Don't open MSI afterburner or similar programs and see if that makes a difference.

Have you checked temps for the cards and windows task manager for anything strange going on?

Hi there,
Thanks for the quick response. I have not tried CCleaner or DDU, so I will do that tonight. I always run clean install when I install Nvidia drivers though. I spoke to Dan at OCuk and he was very helpful and said it might be a voltage issue with the OC on the cpu. He was very polite and helpful, so as well as trying stock settings with the CPU I will also try what you have suggested. I am also going to swap the cards around and see if that makes a difference, as it doesn't seem to be an issue when SLI is turned off. I am thinking it might be one of the cards? Hopefully not as I don't think they sell them anymore!

All my temps are fine on both CPU and GPU. Whilst playing games my CPU get's to around 65c and during Prime95 to around 85-90c, which I find a little too hot tbh! The system was OC'd by OCUK at 4.4GHz with an voltage of around 1.34v, which I found to be a little too agressive, but I guess that voltage was stable with this chip during their testing?

Again thanks for the reply. I will reply tonight with my results!
