I'm afraid you are a little bit stuck.
Apple currently do not have a 64bit version of iTunes - if you look at the iTunes download page you'll see the supported OS's.
These are all 32bit OS's - no 64bit.
Classics, Nano's and Shuffles can be made to run under Vista 64.
You install 32bit iTunes and then install the Gear driver located here:
Unfortunately as far as I know, nobody has been able to get the Touch to work under a Windows 64bit environment.
This is Apple at fault I'm afraid - they have had 12 months since release and 24 months since the later Vista betas to get a 64bit version ready, however they simply haven't bothered.
You might be able to use the Winamp and Windows Media player plugins to get the songs on your ipod. I'm not totally sure if it works I just know there are some plugins out there for it, might be worth searching around for them but even if they do work I'm not sure about 64 bit.
The iPod simply charges over the USB cable.
Apple sell an AC adaptor of course, but at £25 it is a little steep.
I believe you can get 3rd party chargers from EBay for less - just make sure it is touch compatible.
I got a new Nano for Christmas from the wife and thankfully the charger I had for my old Mini works fine so I can charge it without the need for a USB port.

iPod Touch doesn't work under 64bit Windows.
Shuffle, Nano & Classic all work under 64bit Windows - once you've installed the 32bit version of iTunes and the "Gear" driver (Gear driver not required if you're upgrading from an old version of iTunes).
Although to be fair you do have to wonder what Apple have done to the Touch to make it non-compatible.
I mean it's all well and good saying "64bit Windows not supported" and then if you have problems they turn around and say "We don't support this..."
It is quite another thing to actively make your product not actually work with a particular OS.
You also wouldn't mind, but Apple are a big corporation, so they would have had access to Vista Beta for at least 12 months before it was released.
With that in mind they have now had 2 years to get a 64bit version of iTunes ready yet they haven't.
And I thought Creative were bad.
