Hi guys I've just had this email come through saying the following,
Greetings, We are writing to inform you that we have, unfortunately, had to cancel your World of Warcraft account: Account Name: LOWRIDER007Type of Violation: Involvement in online trading activitiesInvestigation Concluded: 01/12/2008Consequences for Account: Account Cancellation It is with regret that we take this type of action, however, it is in the best interest of the World of Warcraft community as a whole, and for the integrity of the game, that your access to the World of Warcraft servers be cancelled. Online trading refers to the exchange of in-game content for real world money, and includes, but is not limited to, the sale or purchase of gold, the sale or purchase of experience in the form of powerlevelling, and the sale or purchase of honor points, reputation or items. Account access is the responsibility of the account owner and account sharing is against our Terms of Use (http://www.wow-europe.com/en/legal/termsofuse.html). Therefore, should you believe someone other than yourself (the account owner) has committed this violation of the Terms of Use with your account, these sanctions would still apply, as our action is taken against the account, not the individual. If you wish to review our current Rules and Polices, they can be found at:http://www.wow-europe.com/en/policy/ Regards, Account Administration Team

Take note of the bold part :(, that doesn't look good, is there a chance I can get my acc back ?, who do I contact ?, I'm not a happy bunny :(, I haven't even been on my wow acc for 2 weeks so god knows what this is.

I would email back asking what evidence they have that your account was involved in the illegal trading.

However before doing that does anyone else use your account, such as a younger brother or sister?

No one else uses my acc and no one else has access to my machines :( whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!! :(, I've defo never done anything illegal for a fact.

Anyone know what email I should use to contact them with ?, the sender of the email I received today was [email protected], do think I can reply to that one ?

Dam ****ing dam, was looking forward to levelling up my character over Christmas, this is my first acc as well, ARGHHHHHHHHHH FFS.

But end of the day I haven't actually done any such acts so on principle I will be threatening them with court action, I know that sounds silly and probably nothing will come of it but it's not about the money, I just don't like being told I've done something that contravenes the EULA or whatever when I haven't done anything wrong, I've had that character for a few years, I spent 1 year levelling it up slowly and stopped for about a year, until recently that is, and then I get that email sent through without warning, I'm not a happy chappy.

Well I've sent them one polite (and slightly desperate sounding :o) email, I've haven't threatened them with court action or anything, hopefully I'll here from them soon.

One thing though, when I re-started my wow subscription I used a pay as you go credit card instead of my old bank acc details as I can control my wow usage better with these cards so maybe they think I've sold the acc and gave the buyer of my acc a pay as you go credit card in my name to to top up and continue using my acc in my name ?, I imagine that's what people do to make it look the acc is being used by the original acc holder, I can't think of any other reason they world cancel my acc tbh, perhaps people use these pay as you go CC cards to abuse the system in some way.

WOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOO, I can escape from reality again !!! :o:D

Greetings, We are writing to inform you that, after a careful investigation of your account closure, we have agreed to remove the permanent suspension of your account from the World of Warcraft servers. This change has already been put into effect, and your account should again be available for play shortly. If you find anything is missing from your account, please contact the Game Master department by submitting an in-game ticket explaining your problem in more detail. If you experience problems adding payment to your account, please contact [email protected]. Your account may have been compromised using a Key Logger or Trojan virus which can be used to obtain the account name and password of World of Warcraft accounts used on that computer. Please make sure that you are using the most current routines for your anti-virus software.

What's strange is my main character is still there and intact with all items and gold, but, my low level elf has been deleted and in it's place I have a level 1 warrior residing in the Barrens , still I can't complain, I'm just glad I got my main character back :), I guess the friendly email approach was best, perhaps my unhappy smiley faces scattered about the email helped too :o:D.

cheers, I've changed my password, it has numbers an letters now, I'm using avast anti-virus atm but tbh I'm not a great fan of it, I think I'll stump up and get nod32, I know this is a bit naughty but if I pay for nod32 can I get away with using it on 2 machines ?
