My 3 kids all want a laptop for Xmas

I have £2000 to get all three but dont know where to start.

They would like to play games and use internet for schoolwork.

Have you got a model to recomend? Any advice would be really appreciated.

3 x Toshiba Sattelite Pro's would do the job.

I say this because you mentioned the "G" word, and it's the only sub £700 laptop I know of that has a competent graphics card.

Yer we have 2 toshiba sat pro's in the house and Id reccomend them for budget computing.

No problems at all.

Failing that take a look at acer, they are putting out a few decent value laptops now, not sure if the graphics will be up to gaming though.

What about something like this, quick search shows...

Acer Aspire 5672WLMi
Core Duo T2300 1.66GHz
1024MB
80GB
15.4 Inch WXGA TFT
Modem
LAN
WLAN
DVD SuperMulti DL
5in1 Card Reader
XP Home
ATI Mobility Radeon X1400

£600

Im not saying buy that, im just trying to give an exmple of whats out there in your price bracket.

For some reason I missed out the model number in my post above. Google for the P100.

It only has a Core Solo processor, but its still adequate. Quite large and heavy due to the 17" screen, but still small enough to move about. Just not great for people to travel around with them a lot.

Well it's a Toshiba P100 with Geforce Go 7600 and an Intel Core Solo, if you google "toshiba p100 7600 core solo" you should find some info on it :)
