Hey,
I've been asked to fix someone's laptop, and basically the only real problem with it is that it accepts absolutely no mouse input. I can plug in a usb mouse, or use the trackpad and nothing happens.
I've tried uninstalling all of the mouse related hardware in device manager, i've tried looking through accessibility options, messed with sensitivity options and annoyingly it refuses to boot into safe mode. No luck with system restore either.
The strange thing is, when the computer is asleep, the trackpad wakes it up just fine.
Does anybody know where some kind of setting that would cause this might be?
Cheers.

edit: also, booting a ubuntu cd works fine with no mouse issues.

I'm all for strange solutions, but this doesn't appear to be working :(, does anybody else have any idea what kind of setting may have caused this?

it would, but that is far too much effort :p there is a heck of a lot of software on there that i cannot reinstall and making sure no data is forgotten is going to be seriously annoying whilst using the entirety of windows with a keyboard only.

I mean, apart from the mouse being ignored, it works perfectly, it seems really overkill :/
