Help! Laptop wont boot! Currupt registry I think.

Hi,

When I boot my laptop now I get this following warning.

"STOP: c0000218 {Registry File Failure}
The registry cannot load the hive (file):
\SystemRoot\System32\Config\SOFTWARE
or its log or alternate.
It is corrupt, absent, or not writable."

Now what seems to be wrong? Also more importantly how can it be fixed.

Also anyone know what the standard admin password is for an Acer Travelmate 2410?
