I'm hoping someone might give me some advice on how to repair my laptop.

It's a Toshiba Satellite Pro S500-156 (only a few months old)

On the way home yesterday my water bottle sprung a leak in my backpack with my laptop on. When I discovered this I quickly dried it as much as possible (by this point the laptop had switched itself off) and left it to dry for nearly 24hrs. I have just tried switching it on and it refused to start. I can now smell burning from the fan exhaust & am very concerned.

I'm worried something like the fan might have burnt out (hopefully nothing worse). Can anyone suggest what I could do to check what is bust and once decided where I could get a replacement part?

Thank you in advance

Well I would strip it down as much as possible and leave it to dry out and see what happens. Depends on where the water has gotten into.

i've spilled some sparkling water onto mine, housepad was gona and many many other things, i've got myself a broken for parts, same model lappy of auction site works like a charm now
