Hi,

I used to have a mono 300dpi HP Laserjet printer, it was great until it died. All my documents used to be printed from Microsoft Word using Arial at 4 pts due to the large amount of data. So I purchased a Laserjet 4500, it works fine in colour and text around 10 points, but when I try to print my documents at 4pt, they all look like they are in bold and not very readable

I tried messing with the printer driver - REt on/off, mono only etc. Then moved to the printer and found PCL/PS or Auto (default), so I have left it on auto. In the font section, it is set to internal, font 0, pitch 10pts and character set PC-8, there are lots of others e.g.

What am I doing wrong as this printer is rated at 600 dpi? Am I using the wrong setting? Also when printing PDFs, the very small fonts around 4pts do not print sharply. Please help

Ok, got it sorted, it was the REt performing some sort of antialising and it reset after every page print to the default enabled position everytime I tried to print a page from my document which is why I did not pick it up earlier. So I disabled it from the main printer panel :)
