Hello All,

I built this PC when the AMD 200 series first came out. I have not bought any additional parts. Basically I am looking to play the latest games. I purchased squad and I am forced to play it on low with 40 fps or less. The game spikes. Arma also lagged insanely hard when I first built the PC. I currently am scared to purchase new games because of this.

Current System

Graphics card: BIOS Part Number 113-1E27100-O48 (Sapphire R9 270X 2G)
Processor: CPU Type AMD FX(tm)-8320 Eight-Core Processor 3.5 GHZ
Motherboard: M5A99FX Pro R2.0
RAM: GSkill 2 x 4GB DDR3 1866
Power Supply: Rosewell 630 Watts

My monitor is a 2420Z 60HZ BenQ

I am not the most computer savy so I did not go in and overclock the CPU or GC

Basically Squad, Total war, and Arma don't look great. I am happy with playing at 1080 but would like to max out everything. I want it to be plug and play and not have to overclock.

Thank you for the reply. Looking to spend between 500$-$1000. I do not have a hard budget. I just want to do what would be the logical approach and deliver the best bang for the buck. If spending a 1000$ delivers more value then spending 600$ than I am willing to do that but I am not looking to chase every ounce of performance.

Case: Antec Three Hundred Two Gaming Case, Black

I'm not sure what you mean by that. Honestly all parts were purchased in February 2014. Now that it is 4 years later I am looking to modernize the RIG. Rig currently has 1TB HD and 120 Gig SSD. Monitor, keyboard, and mouse all still work. I am not sure what I want to do because I have not been following computer parts since the 200's were released. I do not know if it is worth it to upgrade now or wait and then to what extent i should invest for this? I want to play new games on max settings. I am sick of having to turn things down to counter lag.

P.S
Slightly overbudget but thats because I recommend a new PSU and new SSD.

You could potentially get a cheaper PSU but the brand is amazing!

You can replace the FX CPU with ryzen and you'll notice gains with frame rates over your current card!

using rx480 card

then with ryzen 1500x 4 core/8 thread chip and gtx 1080 to put as much stress on the CPU

intel has been mentioned so hears ryzen

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £890.06 (includes shipping: £13.20)

drop gpu to asus dual to save £20?
