Help making a clan website!

Right I'm on the hunt to make a Team Fortress 2 clan!

Now I can design the webpage the only thing I can't do it coding, nor am I good at what works best for a layout!

This is the banner which the theme of the site will be based around:

Anyone got any advice, tips, resources etc. that could help me design the website so it can be easily coded for someone?

Use Joomla.

Very easy.
No messing around. One click installation with Fantastico.
Lots of modules and components for these sorts of things.

Alternatively, get outside and forget about clans.

This is just a start off point for a portfolio of work, I wish to design and make websites and we all gotta start somewhere I'm afraid

And I would go outside but it's raining.

If you can design a webpage but aren't good at the layout, then you can't design a webpage.

A page just isn't about looks, its about user interaction, making the user not think about what they have to do, certain elements in certain places etc

What functionality do you want the website to do? It's all well n good someone saying "Joomla" but without any idea what you want we can't really help

That's why I'm learning how to, the design I can do its the layout, atm I'm doing a basic layout:

What I'm not sure about is the content, the forums will be external, but I want to do it with a minimal amount of scrolling, so for news I would guess I would ahve to update the page and remove the previous informatio and have an archive at the bottom etc.

I'd make the 'Home' and 'News' on the same page. Have some stuff about at the top, then run a news blog/feed at the bottom - the old news drops off the bottom into a linked archive. Otherwise people won't read the news..

You could save yourself some time by getting a free layout from somewhere like here then dropping your design into that.

Mock up the website in Photoshop with how you want it to look then it will be easier to code up in terms of features.

Looks like somehting thats been made in freewebs...

Webdesign isn't a easy field to get into. You need to know how to code and also how to use tools correctly and efficively.

For a clan look at what ur gunna need to make it work.. Best bet is getting a CMS (Joomla ect) and gettting a remade template and addapting it foryourself, that way your get the best of everything.

Personally I quite like that header and menu, the content font might need to be something different though so that it's easier to read (especially with lots of text).

If it's just for a clan site then that looks perfect really

There is a clan CMS called Dev!ls clan CMS (cannot remember the exact name) I used it a few times a few years back and its has everything you could possibly need, and easy to theme/mod/etc.
