I'm trying to create a 2000x2000 pixel image that is soley of the effect seen on the right hand side of the below image (the kaleidoscope of colours meeting at a point in the same colour). Any ideas how?

Cheers, Andrew.

Apologies if this is the wrong forum, wasn't sure which one to put it in.

Get the original picture and load into Photoshop.
Using the CROP TOOL, crop the picture.
Go to IMAGE Menu and click on IMAGE SIZE.
Unclick Constrain Proportions and in the Image Dimensions type Width 2000 and Height 2000.
Press OK and everything should be what you're after.

Mmmmm grainy. :D

In Photoshop create an image with vertical stripes of different widths and colours, then go filter>distort> polar cordinates (choose rectangular to polar). You can then mess about with blur or other filters to make it a bit funkier.

Cheers for the advice everyone. The image is not mine, I found it online. I just want the sunray effect that is depicted in the image.

You can get a similar effect doing the following -

Get an image with the colours you like

Filter / Blur / Radial Blur

amount 100, set it to zoom and best

hit ok

Duplicate the layer, rotate the duplicate and scale it a bit change the layer settings to colour burn or soft light, or mess around with the layer styles and experiment.

Use the gradient tool and choose the default black and transparent stripes preset to draw the black lines. Make a new layer underneath and goto gradient options and start creating your own custom gradient. Gotta make a lot of dark "strips" an light "strips" to create a nice effect. Then choose the Angle gradient tool and draw.

Should look something like this http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y274/aphex_twin/pc%20stuff/Untitled-1.jpg

Hope that helps.
