Help me activating Windows 10

Hi,

I recently upgraded my PC and did a clean install of Windows 10. I had the 10 key from a previous Windows 7 copy with the free upgrade. However when I used my old 10 key, it doesn't work!! Any ideas?

Did you change the motherboard? Was the previous Windows 7 license OEM or retail? Because if you've changed the motherboard and it was an OEM license, then your Windows 10 license is no longer valid. You can try grovelling to Microsoft.

Use the Windows 7 licence key to activate your 10 install.

Or if you linked the install to your Microsoft account before the PC upgrade, you can go into Activation Troubleshooting and select to move this Activation from your 'old' PC to your 'new' one
