I had a Lian-Li 2000+ which I got rid of due to very irritating vibrations coming out of it and decided to get another anti-vibrant case this time. I went for the Lian-LI PCA10. Definetely better than 2000+ in my eyes but! I still got this VERY VERY irritating noise coming out of it.

I have a watercooling system, no inside fans whatsoever/fanless PSU. Even if i stop the pump/radiator fans i can still hear the same noise which makes me think that electronic parts generate it? Please help!!!!:(

If you could listen to it and tell me what your ideas are:

Looks like you may need to do the bungy mod for the hard drives, seems to be quite popular around here.

Am just dissapointed that an expensive case like this isnt really anti-vibrant. In fact it is anti-vibrant my ass.

bungy mod? Basically am using some foam now so that no hard drive touches the aluminium. Seems to work good but this is something lian-li must have done in the first place:mad:

that noise is resonance-I already had more than 10 different PC cases, those of aluminium are always complicated in that respect.

The best case that I had for silence was the Antec Solo-but still made several mods to improve the final result, it was spectacular (the suspension of elastic discs is phenomenal) - but the Solo is a small case

my current case, Chieftech LCX mesh is also very good (but i did some improvements) and has space that never ends eheheh

the best cases for silence seriously, are in steel with at least 0.8mm thick (1mm ideal - cold rolled steel ) - only defect- they are always very heavy

my ( old) Antec SOLO

When we pay so much money for case we shouldnt have to mess more with it. I do find many case manufactures incompetent when it comes to silent cases.

I found that my harddrives have been making a very slight electrical "whine" in my PC-7B, but hadn't realised until I moved it on to a table from the floor. Put it back on the floor and you can't hear it due to my chair being right where the sound going out of phase :p Try moving your case so you don't notice it :)

Read description of vibration induced noise from page 2:
http://www.silentpcreview.com/article75-page1.html

You have clearly 7200rpm HDD...
Also some noise starting around 1 kHz...
And something also above 5 kHz. (high frequency noise I heard in listening especially when playing with Winamp's equalizer)
Look at yourself:

Spectrum analyzer can be fun tool.

Only elastic suspension fully cancels HDD vibration but Lian Li's soft mounting is among better soft mountings...
Might be that you have badly vibrating HDDs. (they're not all equal, there's lot of variation between brands/models)
I suspect 1-2 kHz peaks come from case fans but there's also couple spikes above 5 kHz which shouldn't come from fans or any mechanical part.

With lighter case structure adding some mass could help. And forget those thin and light mats like Akasa, good damping/absorbtion mat has first layer of dense material and then much more than few millimeters of lighter material.

However is this current pc i have 3 samsung drives in a caddy

And cant hear a thing!
No sfot mounting... now Why I'm having hard time in believing that?
