Ok so finially my £1500 cleared in the bank just in time for the VAT to go up :( but never mind anyway im looking to build a top spec gaming PC for that kind of price or simply buy one in, my main game of choice is WoW but im gonna start getting more intense games for my PC as soon as i have one that can handle max graphics, my preference is AMD i hate intel and TBH never see the performance increase to warrent the 500% price difference any suggestions would be great i did post a set up a few weeks back but it got shot down for being over priced rubbish :D cheers

If you can hold on Sandy Bridge comes out 9th Jan and Ocuk are doing a offer they will pay the 2.5% increase.

You say you hate Intel, so AMD spec for you.

of the 2 there stulid which do u think would pack more punch and have a longer shelf life that will require less upgrades in the long run? im looking at the second one and thinking X6 means at least 2 years for games to catch up if not more
oh and with the first one would

Probably the first spec(can add a second 6950 in crossfire, just like the second spec has) hex core cpu isnt needed for a gaming pc, although the spec above is powerful as hell.

The 970 black edition isnt worth the money, it takes 10 seconds to turn the 955BE into the same cpu due to the unlocked multiplier.

I think this one is a great way to go. GTX580 which is a stupidly overpowered graphics card which will dominate all competition, and probably one of the best you can actually get hold of at the moment alongside the 5970. A great motherboard and an all round system. However the extra £150 ish you will have spare i would personally use on that build by stulid but upgrade from an X4 black edition to the X6 1090T black edition, or maybe the 1100T if it takes your fancy but i'd recommend the 1090T :). But you might also have to upgrade from that power supply to something along the lines of a 750-850W.

Indeed have a think and check the reviews and prices of Sandy Bridge and then you can make a decision weather it be AMD or jump to the darkside!! :)
